About Kamini
Kamini Shankar is the reigning title winner as Mrs India New Jersey 2017 (1st runner-up) and will be competing at the upcoming Mrs. India USA 2017 pageant. She is a strong advocate of women's empowerment and believes that education is the ultimate tool to facilitate this. She truly believes that when you educate a girl, you empower a nation.
Kamini works as a Solution Advisor for ETS (Educational Testing Services). She is also a dancer, fitness instructor and model. She excels in the art of belly dancing, salsa and merengue and conducts dance based fitness workshops.
About Dr. Aditi Menon
Dr. Menon is a sport medicine and pain management physician by profession, but due to her passion for dance, she teaches bharatnatyam in her dance school in Short Hills, NJ. She is a trained bharatnatyam dancer and learned under her guru Smt. Alka Shah.
She also learned Kathak for several years from Smt Alka Shah, Smt Maya Misra and attended several workshops by Padma Vibhusha Pandit Birju Maharaj. During performances and dance recitals, her compositions combine Indian classical forms of dance (Kathak and Bharatnatyam) with fusion as well as pure classical items and compositions.
About Renuka
Renuka Srinivasan is the founder and Artistic director of Talashruti School of Dance. It was founded in the year 1995. An accomplished Bharatanatyam dancer, Renuka graduated from Adyar Music College in Chennai, India.
Since 1980, Renuka has performed at venues in the US, England, India and Sri Lanka to diverse audiences. She has also conducted dance workshops at private schools and colleges in the US, including teaching at Rutgers University. She currently teaches Bharatanatyam at her studio in Fords, New Jersey. Additionally, she is working with professional dancers from the mainstream to fuse techniques from the west. Recently, Renuka received a special recognition and a certificate from the National Foundation for the Endowment of Arts, specifically for her membership of her students that has resulted in some of them being recognized as emerging, talented artists.
